I was born in Stuttgart/Germany.

I was 14 when I made my first sculpture. I poured Plaster of Paris into shoeboxes to get a bloc and from there I scraped off the excess material.

But still I decided to study medicine which I did from 1969 to 1976. During that time I worked with clay and practiced drawing and painting, all self taught.

From 1976 until 1992 I worked as medical doctor in Germany in different hospitals and as volunteer doctor from 1986 to 1992 in Tanzania/East Africa. There I decided to do my Masters in Public Health and Health Management which was in 1993 at the University of Heidelberg.

When the family moved in 1994 to Nepal I took drawing classes and wanted to develop my artistic side. Parallel I worked as a consultant for health education with an AIDS related project in Kathmandu.

The turning point was in 1996 when I learned about Reiki and trained as a Reiki practitioner. From there onwards creating paintings and sculptures became an obsession, all the experiences I had with energy work had to be converted into art. Healing and Art work developed parallel. In 1999 I took the master/teacher degree and had my first ever solo exhibition the same year.

Since then there was no looking back, I have for the time being stopped painting and concentrate only on sculptures. Teaching and practicing Reiki is a never ending source of inspiration for me.

Moving from Kathmandu to Poona in 2001 and in 2004 to Delhi has only for short time interrupted my artistic development. Since the first exhibition in Delhi I call my work “HealingArt”.

For material I take whatever is available where I live, like wood in Kathmandu and marble in New Delhi.

Since one year I pursue parallel to art and healing a career as a health consultant.
