Art as tool for healing.

I am inspired by the concept of healing energies, and I try to reflect this by lending my sculptures a solid yet subtle, naturally flowing form.

Art that pleases us can affect our hearts and minds. It wants to be observed and enjoyed. We see something that pleases us, it puts a smile on our face – and already, automatically, something within changes into Positive Energy.

Beauty can touch and affect us deep down and aesthetic pleasure brings us joy. This joy alone can strengthen and revive us.

You see something so beautiful it makes your heart beat faster, your senses become alert, and your eyes cloud with emotion. Your body reacts and even your immune system stirs…every time an art piece hits that nerve.

My sculptures are all about touch. I want them to have a shape and surface that tempts people to touch them. My sculptures want to be seen with the tips of your fingers, tracing their natural forms and enjoying their cool, smooth surfaces.

An additional element is strongly present in my sculptures. With skills learnt and practiced through Distant Reiki Healing, I mentally pour positive life energy into the sculptures while I am working on them. I am convinced that this stored energy seeps out slowly after the sculpture’s completion, to fill it’s surrounding, thus changing the energies of the space and making it more positive.

As a healer I use my hands and the reviving sensation of touch, which I believe has something very magical about it. So it is only logical that combining HEALING with ART, should produce sculptures that want to be touched.
I call them “HealingArt”.

In my art it is the objects themselves which have the capacity to heal.

Parul Khanna, in THE PIONEER, Feb 2007, writes: The most wonderful aspect about her sculptures is that Neumann puts in loads of positive energies while she makes them. ….So, next time you feel better when standing next to a sculpture, you will know it is Beate Neumann’s works.
